OOLONG TEA - SI JI CHUN

Si Ji Chun is a semi-oxidised tea (around 10-30 %), which produces a beautiful full-bodied, golden amber colored, liquor.

Flavor and Aroma: The light oxidation emphasizes the delicate and fresh aroma of this Si Ji Chun that you will want to pamper yourself with. It is a surprising flavorful tea, generously cheerful (lilac, orchid, jasmine), spicy (nutmeg), with a smooth and delicious aftertaste (vanilla, melted butter and honey).

 

How many times can Si Ji Chun Oolong tea be infused? You can re-steep Si Ji Chun tea leaves 3-5 times, though you have to increase the steeping time for each brew.

 

When to drink this tea? Given its relatively low level of caffeine, you can enjoy this tea all day long. Still it is best to avoid after dinner and late in the evening. Si Ji Chun is an excellent choice to complement fish, sea food, poultry or white meat dishes. After any rich meal you would make the most of its digestive virtues. As all Oolong teas, you can drink it cold, to refresh and hydrate yourself, or hot to warm yourself during the cold winter’s days.
