GREEN TEA - Genmaicha MATCHA
It is a traditional tea from Japan that is often served in restaurants. Our Genmaicha Tea, however, is a special and ‘fortified’ blend that is composed for 40% of Gyokuro (gyokuro’jewel dew’), a premium quality green tea prized in Japan, for 10% of Matcha, and for 50% of Genmai (roasted rice grain). This blend of non-oxidized teas produces a medium-bodied, bright genmaicha green tea (jade-like) coloured liquor.
Flavor and Aroma of Genmaicha tea; The fresh grassy aroma of green tea combined with the bouquet of the roasted rice, give a harmonious and inviting fragrance. Outcome of the unique combination of popped brown rice, Goykuro and Matcha, this tea is complex: soft and savory yet fresh and energizing. The flavor is sweet, nutty (hazelnut) and toasty, with crisp, vegetal notes sort of reminds you of popcorn.
How many times can Genmaicha tea be infused? You can re-steep its tea leaves 2-3 times, though you have to increase the steeping time for each brew.
When to drink this green tea? With a relatively high level of caffeine, this tea is a good substitute for coffee. A cup of Genmaicha, restorative and digestive, is also especially enjoyable after meals. It is often drunk before contemplation practices, and after yoga and intense cerebral activities.
